1st Star-

John Conz- Ft. Wayne Federals

Conz lifted the Federal offense to three wins this weekend with 4 goals and 2 assists. The home grown Ft. Wayne product is a solid 2 way power forward with a knack for scoring goals. He has 15 now on the season.

 

2nd Star-

Cody Miller- Wisconsin Rampage

The Thornton, Colorado product chipped in with 5 points in a weekend split for the Rampage. He had 3 goals and 2 assists. He is currently tied for 4th among GLJHL scorers with 35 points.

 

3rd Star-

Cody Hess- Ft. Wayne Federals

Hess is no stranger to the 3 stars. The playmaker added 8 points to his stat line in 3 Federal wins. He’s currently tied with Cody Miller for 4th among GLJHL scorers.

This weeks 3 Stars- 10/17-10/23

1st Star-

Billy Blanset- Wooster Oilers

Blanset currently sits 2nd on the Oilers in scoring and had an explosive weekend offensively in 3 Wooster wins. The Altoona, PA native lit the lamp 5 times in three games including a hat trick on Saturday. On the weekend he had 12 points.

 

2nd Star-

Robbie Speer- Motor City Chiefs

The Chiefs Captain continued his strong play on the blue line this weekend. Speer had a goal and 7 assists totaling 8 points in two Motor City victories. He currently leads them in points with 23.

 

3rd Star-

Lee Satran- Chicago Bulldogs

The Bulldog goalie made 70 saves in 2 appearances this weekend. Satran, who is from Eagle River, WI picked up a shut out on Saturday earning a 7-0 win. Lee is a perfect 6-0 with a 2.15 GAA.

This weeks 3 Stars- 10/10-10/16

1st Star-

James Smith- Motor City Chiefs

The first year Chief had a spectacular 4 goal performance on Sunday in a lopsided win over Indianapolis. In two games this weekend, Smith totaled 6 goals and 3 assists for 9 points. The Macomb, Michigan native is now 2nd on the Chiefs in points with 14 this season.

 

2nd Star-

Ryan Rinko- Kalkaska Roughnecks

Rinko, who hails from Salem, Ohio, was steady as always this weekend in a pair of Roughneck wins. He showed his ability to make plays with the pass, as well as his scoring prowess to light the lamp. Ryan had 4 goals and 4 assist this weekend. Rinko is 3rd on the Kalkaska scoring list with 22 points.

 

3rd Star-

John Mulligan- Motor City Chiefs

It’s been a long road back for veteran forward of the Motor City Chiefs, John Mulligan.  Hampered by off season surgery, Mulligan returned to the Chief line up and picked up right where he left off. He had 3 goals and 4 assists en route to two Motor City victories. John was 2nd in scoring for the Chiefs last year with 67 points.

1st Star-

Andrew Jarvis- St. Louis Frontenacs

It was an offensive explosion for the home grown talent this weekend. Jarvis had 5 goals and 9 assists in 3 Frontenac wins. He also picked up a Hat Trick Sunday in a 6-1 win over Tri City. Jarvis is tied for 8th in the GLJHL scoring with 19 points.

 

2nd Star-

Matt Soukup- Chicago Bulldogs

The Orland Hills, Illinois native was held off the score sheet for just the 2nd time this season in Fridays win, but that didn’t stop him from having a productive weekend and being named the GLJHL’s 2nd star. He had a 4 assist game Saturday and netted a Hat Trick Sunday, along with 2 more assists to help the Bulldogs improve to 13-0 this season. 3 goals, 6 assists this weekend and a total of 25 points this season has Soukup leading the league in scoring.

 

3rd Star-

Jon Strand- Tri City IceHawks

Strand made the journey to Tri City all the way from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to start this season and he hasn’t disappointed. Strand made 72 saves on Sunday in a 6-1 loss to St. Louis. He has a save percentage of .893 on the season and a 0-2 record.

WEEK OF 9/26-10/3/2011

1st Star-

Cody Hess- Ft. Wayne Federals

Cody had 4 goals and 8 assists totaling 12 points this weekend. The Decatur, Indiana produce has points in all 5 Federal contests this year for a total of 18 points. He’s currently 4th in GLJHL scoring.

 

2nd Star-

Derek Moss- Ft. Wayne Federals

Moss had 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points on the weekend, in a trio of wins over Kalkaska. Moss, who is a home grown Ft. Wayne product, has lit the lamp in all 5 Federal wins.

 

3rd Star-

Dalton Pennington- Motor City Chiefs

Dalton had 3 goals and 4 assists in Motor City’s two games this weekend. The 3 goals came in a Hat Trick performance Friday night against Tri City. For Pennington, a Belleville, Michigan native, it was his first career GLJHL Hat Trick.

STARS OF THE WEEK SEPT. 26-OCT 3, 2011

This weeks 3 Stars- 9/26-10/2

1st Star-

Calvin Burkhart- Kalkaska Roughnecks

Calvin shouldered the load between the pipes for the Roughnecks this weekend en route to a 2-0 record. He made 38 saves on 39 shots Friday night in Kalkaska’s first win in franchise history. His encore performance was even better. Burkhart made 49 saves Sunday as Kalkaska completed the weekend sweep of Central Wisconsin with a 3-2 win.

 

2nd Star-

Joseph Close- Kalkaska Roughnecks

Close, the Northville native, was dominate this weekend chipping in with 4 goals and 4 assists for an 8 point weekend. Close has 19 points on the year and carried the Kalkaska offense.

 

3rd Star-

Luke Morin- Chicago Bulldogs

Morin lead the offense this weekend, as the Bulldogs remained unblemished with 3 big wins over West Division leading Wisconsin. Luke had 4 goals and 3 assists in the 3 games and has 14 points overall through Chicago’s first 10 games.
